The UNBIASED study (UK-Netherlands-Belgium- International SEDation study) on therapeutic sedation in Europe

The UNBIASED study is a collaboration between research teams in UK, Belgium and the Netherlands aiming at exploring decision-making surrounding the application of therapeutic (palliative) sedation in contemporary clinical practice, experiences of clinical staff and decedents companions of its use and their perceptions of its contribution to the management of death.

At the moment, the project involves centres in England, the Netherlands and Belgium. Any requests for participation by other centres would be considered by steering group meetings. Please direct queries about the project:
